Description:

ArtesaníasICP offers the public an easy way to discover and connect with artisans affiliated with the ICP. Users can search for contact information based on the type of craftsmanship they are interested in, the artisan's hometown, their name, or any related keyword. The platform provides a directory listing artisans along with their name, hometown, crafted products, email address, phone number, and, when available, their social media and online selling platforms. Upon each visit to the application, users are greeted with randomly displayed educational notes on Puerto Rican craftsmanship or brief biographies of Master Craftsmen or Craftswomen.
Additionally, there is a tab that directs users to a platform containing information on the country's cultural and creative offerings. ArtesaníasICP is part of the Instituto de Cultura Puertorriqueña's (ICP) initiative to broaden the sales platforms for the artisanal sector in Puerto Rico.
This application was developed by students at the University of Puerto Rico: Carlos J Díaz Vargas, Lyxaira Glass Rivera, Christian J Matos Rivera, and Emmanuel Rivera Colón. They embarked on this project as part of their Software Engineering course led by Dr. Carlos J Corrada Bravo at the Río Piedras Campus.
